Christine’s Business Cards

•April 3, 2009 • 1 Comment

Check out the business card design for Science teacher/Substitute teacher Christine Markowski.  Christine wanted a professional, fun and scientific looking card that would stand out.  So we started looking at organic natural shapes and ended up with the lively custom hand drawn tree you see here. The natural youthful feel to the card works perfect for Christine.  So if anybody needs a science teacher in Bellingham give here a call.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.

Boat Icon

•January 31, 2009 • Leave a Comment

So my brother got laid off a while back and he was going to start doing some business on his own.  He is a boat mechanic, and I developed a logo and business card for him.  Here is the logo.  He works on smaller boats, so I thought an image of a smaller speed/ski boat cruising through the water would convey the idea that he will get your boat running smoothly on the water in no time!

bellingham sunset

This picture was taken with my phone camera on top of the parkade, overlooking downtown bellingham.  The colors came out awesome, and the lights look cool because they are all blurry from the low quality camera that my phone is, but it can take some great pictures.  Not to mention that my phone has been through the washer and dryer…. it is truly an amazing device.

This is a poster design for internship positions that were available at DIS.  The posters were hung around Western Washington University.  They sparked a good amount of interest.

Brett Dennen CD Cover

I think this is a really cool cover design for Brett Dennen’s new cd “Hope for the Hopeless”.  The illustration/design was done by Brezinka Design Co.  You can check out the blog here.  He does some truly great work.  Keep it up man!  And also, I am a huge fan of Brett Dennen, if you haven’t heard of him, you need to listen.

The Big Lebowski is one of my all time favorite movies.  So here is a logo I made based off the gutterballs scene in the movie.  If I ever form a bowling league, we got ourselves a logo.  That would be so much fun. I am working on incorporating the type and then I will have to come up with a cool bowling shirt/team uniform design.

Clicke here to view the gutterballs scene from the movie.

Rainier Beer Advertising

•October 7, 2008 • Leave a Comment

In the 70’s and 80’s Rainier Beer ran some of the greatest ads in the history of advertising. I may be a little bias, because I grew up and live in the northwest, plus I have been watching my dad drink Ranier ever since I can remember. But they were funny, simple, and timeless. The creative group that came up with this campaign must have been geniuses. They convinced the Ranier Bosses to do totally off-the-wall ads that became conversation pieces. And because of their great marketing success Ranier beer had an amazingly high market share for years. I mean running beer bottles… that is just GREAT! Unfortunately Ranier beer isn’t even made in the Northwest anymore. And I think the single most important ingredient in their beer might have been the advertising.  Check out the motorcycle ad.
